President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he’s considering sending money directly to Americans, using funds from the claimed savings of Elon Musk’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency.

Pay hundreds of thousands into Medicare and social security over a lifetime of working for the same government collecting those taxes to gut the systems so they no longer work and give everyone a check for 500 and the rest to the 1%, US has become the last chance remedial class community college of countries.

I'm gonna guess that this would amount to like $100 per person per year? And in exchange my planet will be less inhabitable, prices on everything will go up, quality will go down, safety will plummet, rights will vanish, our place on the international stage will be forever revoked, and unemployment will skyrocket which will increase crime out of desperation to survive.

I don't think I'd take that deal for $10k. They need to fire themselves. They're not the department of government efficiency, they're the department of stripping the government for parts. They're cutting shit that pays dividends.

A little bit less than that... DOGE is claiming they found $55B in savings, Trump wants to kick back 20% to taxpayers.

So 20% of 55B = 11B.

164 million taxpayers:

https://www.forbes.com/advisor/taxes/taxes-statistics/

So $11B/164M = $67 each.

OTOH... DOGE hasn't actually found $55B, best anyone can figure it's more like $2B.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/doge-wall-of-receipts-shows-errors-tallying-billions-in-savings/

So running the same formula, 20% of 2B = $400,000,000 / 164M = $2.44 per taxpayer.

I absolutely believe they'll cut a check for $5000, say it's the savings, and then say Democrats caused the renewed inflation.

[–] Blue_Morpho 8 points 1 day ago

Is that before or after someone noticed their $8B in savings was $8m? Or before they had to rehire all those departments they fired before they realized they were critical?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago

I could buy 4 eggs with that!

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 day ago

You'll get $100 and lose 10k to inflation

[–] SpaceNoodle 15 points 1 day ago

$100/person implies over $30 BN. DOGE has "saved" what, $10 MM overall so far?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

It's not an exchange. Either way the planet will be less inhabitable, etc. Wouldn't you like an extra $100 during the end times?

I will donate mine to the ACLU. Thanks, little guy. They need help fighting your bullshit.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I hope you believe that money is speech and whatever other wacky BS the ACLU is promoting...

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

Likewise. I think I’ll toss in a little extra, just to be sure.

Trump: "We will be giving $1,000 per taxpayer back thanks to DOGEs cuts!"

Taxpayers: Receives a check for $1.000 dollars

[–] Theprogressivist 12 points 2 days ago

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 days ago

It ain't changing my opinion, but, yes, please mail me money.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 day ago

The dumb fucks would eat it up too.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 day ago

It’s gonna be on some kind of doge / twitter card and some dumb TRUMPCOIN crypto shit, not real money.

[–] ToiletFlushShowerScream 6 points 2 days ago

You too can be like a CEO and put an extra buck in your wallet at the expense of ten thousand American jobs. And these are the jobs of the only people who aren't working for a company actively trying to squeeze you for every drop of cash you have.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart 4 points 1 day ago

And it'll work.

[–] greenfish 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Think they'll turn on him when he doesn't do it? Or will they blame democrats?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago

Either way, rent will go up to eat it all away.

[–] P1k1e 1 points 1 day ago

So....speed running inflation huh?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Maybe this way his voters will be able to afford eggs again one day. Once.
