No it should be up to Congress, but executive has been encroaching on legislative and judicial powers for centuries to centralize power under the president to the point now over the last few decades they now use executive orders as short term legislative and judicial changes unrelated to civilian oversight of military, administration of the executive, or veto power over the Senate.

When money is used in society as security for basic rights like a home, food and clean water, healthcare, political representation in government, then people hoarding wealth at the detriment of others are responsible and shouldn't be surprised when those same people they oppress become violent.

Lock screen is just a picture I saw that I liked i don't know who made it

Background is from torment: tides of numenera the changing god looking out at earth year circa 1 million from his space station before the game starts and it gets destroyed with you falling to earth.

1999's The Night of the Headless Horseman. Very '90s CG but if you're able to get past that it's amazing, one of my top two favorite tellings of the tale, with voice actors including Mark Hamill, Clancy Brown, Tia Carrere, Bill Fagerbakke, and William H Macy.

They can't because it's not believers vs unbelievers, the clergy educated in biblical scholarship know their position is indefensible that's why they enforce blasphemy laws and murder apostates. Because in the light of transparency, historical context, and evidence none of the religions of Abraham are reasonable to believe.

They know it's made up, but they can't stop because they've convinced themselves it's for the greater good to defend the 'noble lie'.

It's less about intelligence, implying some innate talent or skill, and more about indoctrination and education, but I agree with the sentiment we are ill prepared for the recurring challenges we keep inflicting on ourselves.

Been listening to a few lately, a few John Carpenter's, Mayhem was pretty out there, looking for more that are interesting or wildly off topic or entertaining.

"In these times of darkness and hopelessness, we wish to share a strong message of solidarity and recognition to those Palestinian journalists who are covering this crisis in such dramatic circumstances. As humanity, we have a huge debt to their courage and commitment to freedom of expression," said Mauricio Weibel, Chair of the International Jury of Media Professionals.

Just trying to live with as little advertising as possible and curious what tips or tricks the community has aside from moving out to a cabin in the woods.

I can't really get away from road side advertising for now. Public sporting events are completely infected, and for the ads I am forced to see I try to make a conscious effort not to buy their goods or services. I won't subscribe to a streaming service if they have a sub+ad tier, if they're separate free with ads or sub no ads I'll support it.

Not really for any moral stance, but ad blockers are good at avoiding malware and some services are basically broken if you have to wait for an ad network, and I just feel mentally healthier in general without the extra propaganda.
