Summary

Elon Musk’s DOGE is operating in secrecy as it restructures federal agencies.

Democrats and federal workers question DOGE’s staff, decision-making, and data access, raising security concerns.

As an example, DOGE has cut programs and leases at the General Services Administration, but after NBC News inquired about a DOGE request for GSA employee data, it was withdrawn within six hours.

Union leader Jacqueline Simon doubts DOGE staff have proper security clearances, calling the vetting process “impossible” given the timeline.

DOGE is literally an example of government waste and inefficiency through needless duplication.

The GAO already exists.

So much for "the most transparent president."

He is pretty transparent, just not in a good way.

"If I become president again I will take over the country, become dictator on day 1, cut healthcare and social support programs and also just start murdering people because I can."

This is so wierd given how people were crazy over the cia. This is like a super secret cia with no congressional or judicial oversite that is being given authority and access to all parts of the executive in an unlimited manner. I mean its crazy just writing it out in words.

Trump declared it legal and declared Musk above the law. What are you going to do about it?

Absolutely nothing, that will show em.

I don't understand how Elon is allowed to do anything with the government? He isn't a cabinet member, is he?

[–] [email protected] 23 points 1 day ago

You see, when no one is going to stop you, you're allowed to do anything you want.

It's complicated. Trump renamed an Obama-era agency and put Musk as the head of it.

Doesn’t he still need to be approved for that position by congress?

[–] dhork 2 points 1 day ago

Smaller agencies dont require their leaders to have Senate approval. It's possible that's the reason they picked this agency in particular.

Mudk can't help himself though. He will keep bragging and trolling.
