Summary

Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is pushing legislation to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, arguing the U.S. military and taxpayers secure the region, making it "our gulf."

Greene shared the proposal text on social media, calling for federal agencies to adopt the name change.

She linked the renaming effort to combatting Mexican cartel activity in the Gulf.

Trump supported the name change in a 2024 executive order, but there has been no indication of international adoption, including by the UK.

Jesus Christ, the Gulf of Mexico is already under our protection and especially our exclusion zones which we've mostly waived for the benefit of business.

Read a fucking book.

MtG Charlatan drama. Next

[–] Majorllama 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

How about this MTG. The section of Georgia that touches the Gulf of Mexico can be renamed to the Gulf of America.

Oh wait your state doesn't even fuckin touch the Gulf of MEXICO.

Jokes aside I am curious which country has more land along the Gulf. Not because I want to rename it, but eyeballing it on maps I really can't tell.

Would you measure it to the "mouth" like I did in the picture? How are Gulfs defined? I need a cartographer to chime in.

We really giving up on "Gulfy McGulfface" so soon?

[–] Majorllama 2 points 1 week ago

Yeah that just rolls right off the tongue haha

[–] MapleEngineer 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Why is Lesser Canada trying to rename the Gulf of Mexico?

We can unilaterally rename the US, right?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

South Canada works for me.
