Ms Altman claims her brother "groomed and manipulated" her and performed sex acts on her over several years, including "rape, sexual assault, molestation, sodomy, and battery", according to a court filing seen by the BBC.

Ms Altman said she sustained "great bodily injury", severe emotional distress and depression.

She added that she had incurred numerous medical bills because of medical and mental health treatment for her injuries.

In the UK, victims or alleged victims of sexual offences have a right to lifelong anonymity. The UK legislation which creates this right does not apply to people in the US.

What, this is the kind of scandal that dethrones people? Our elected president is a rapist.

Yeah, I would have believed it ten years ago. Now we have national proof that people are fighting to have criminals and charlatans in office. It doesn't matter what these people do as long as the money is backing them up.

Ahh, the usa. Where law enforcement doesn't do the investigating, instead you have to go and fight in court before they get off their ass.

Why can't you just report a thing and they get on it?

Ahh the usa. Where if you are at the mercy of the courts who descided that multible federal offenses and attempted coup are A-OK since you can't prosecute someone in power.

Wait... that would mean trying to violently overthrow thr government is legal as long as you succeed

[–] Buddahriffic 3 points 16 hours ago

It always has been. Seizing power means you have the power, whatever the laws say. Anyone that doesn't like that needs to take it from you.

We aren't capital so we are low on the list of importance

I did not know that.

Mr Altman said he gives his sister monthly financial support, pays her bills and rent, and offered to buy her a house, but that she "continues to demand more money from us".

. . . Billionaire Mr Altman, who married his partner Oliver Mulherin in 2024, is one of the technology world's most high-profile figures.

Something about that juxtaposition is very wrong.

Everyone is entitled to the presumption of innocence. That being said, his personality is absolutely of the type I can see do this. Total narcissist, the entire world is in service of their whims, etc.

There is no "this is the evil type", random everyone does sexual violence. The Gisèle Pelicot case is the latest example that makes this perfectly clear, where their fucking wives STILL say "no way he xould do that" despite the fucking video of hin showing him do it! The statistics of decades are absolutely clear about this. It is the random normal person that is close to the victim (family etc. in 9 out of 10 cases) does this shit.

my first feeling was this as well. maybe it is true, maybe not but I wouldn't be surprised if it is.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 19 hours ago

Well, that escalated quickly.

Weird point, but it does bring up the fact that Sammy boy is a proven liar.
