One kidney, one lung, part of the liver. Extreme case, one eye. Skin grafts.

Go to hospital? No thanks, finish what you started. Take my other organs, lady.

(for medical reasons, I doubt anybody would actually want my organs though)

[–] [email protected] 10 points 3 weeks ago

Maybe people who like foie gras.

[–] Alexstarfire 5 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

This implies they may have non-medical reasons for them and I'm curious.

A person's gotta eat.

Bad wording on my part, I meant a general and underlying chronic defect (like bad collagen) rather than situational/habitual damage.

Unfun reminder that chloroform doesn't work like portrayed in the movies. It takes about five minutes of inhalation to cause incapacity. And it's very dangerous as it has a plethora of side effects that make it not used in medicine since the beginning of the last century.

Ok so

Because the context is here, and my anxiety is all encompassing

Is this something to be aware of if/when I start dating again?

[–] Boozilla 11 points 3 weeks ago

While black market organ trafficking is real, this version of it is urban legend stuff.

Obviously, one should be cautious when dating new people anyway. Tell friends and family your plans, stick to public places with plenty of other people around, etc.

Depends a bit on the country I guess, but you definitely, absolutely should make sure to:

  1. Always meet new people at public places where they know they will be seen
  2. Not let them take you anywhere else, especially places you don't know or expected to go to
  3. Inform someone where you are and when to check on you (or ask them to accompany you if that's an option)

Not necessarily because there are loads of people longing for your organs, but there's tons of other stuff that could happen.

Plot twist: this was their seventh wedding anniversary and she did the same thing two years ago.

Other people have answered the organ harvesting. As for if chloroform works that fast, no generally it doesn't.

[–] Dasus 2 points 3 weeks ago

One would not drink chloroform. Your body would object. Strongly.

It's not something you hide in a drink.

Even holding a chloroformed rag in front of someone's nose and mouth doesn't work like in the movies.

Isn't this a Venture Bros joke too?

[–] fjordbasa 2 points 3 weeks ago

Bottom left… did I lose the game?
