If anyone is looking for a deal on a desk, I've gotten (the ones I haven't built myself) some decent desks at ReStore. Plus it benefits habitat for humanity last I checked.
Freecycle might also be active in your area and if it is, and you have time, hey free desk eventually I'm sure.
My current desk I built myself (just slapped a hardwood countertop in top of some filling cabinets, attached some legs too), but the one before that I got for $25USD. I loved that desk even though it weighed 400ish pounds (180ish kg).
I didn't get a desk on restore but off Kijiji, and it's the best desk I could have ever hoped for. Such high quality and even decent looking and I absolutely love it and will probably keep it for decades. I used to be a cabinet/furniture maker and it's a desk I would have wanted to make for myself, and was able to get it for like $120 delivered. I almost suspect the desk was somehow stolen because if I made it wouldn't have sold it for less than $1000.
I also highly recommended buying from a place like restore, or even second hand.
Practically anything produced nowadays is absolutely crap quality and overpriced, designed to fail within 5 years. Anything custom made is also unaffordable unless you make bank or grab it second hand.
