The caption sells it for me, the "pretty annoyed about it"

Nothing to play with 1000+ games in their steam library

Playing Rimworld can satisfy all of these

That's a weird eating disorder.

I found "Lets Build a Zoo" to get a significant result, almost like the olden days where you can feed people to a tiger in one of the zoo tycoon games..?

There's your problem.

I find it cute that none of us listen music CD's or use physical media, but we still draw characters using physical media to get the point across. And I like it, it's more visual and entertaining. Bring on the characters using cameras instead of phones!

Also VERY relatable, especially since I play DBD

Maybe not CDs, but vinyl is having quite a renaissance lately. Ditto for Blu-Rays, although nowhere near to the same extent.

Vinyl is actually on plateau or even trending downwards while CDs are starting to trend up.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

You’re partly right; looks like both vinyl and CD sales are down YOY: https://www.headphonesty.com/2024/10/vinyl-sales-fall-compared-last-year/

That article singles out cost of living as the likely culprit and I’m prone to believing that; although I think some of the labels are getting a tad too greedy with some vinyl releases also (I think Taylor Swift has been called out as particularly egregious?).

I’ve never been much of an audiophile, growing up with cassette tapes, minidiscs and 128kbps MP3s - they all seemed perfectly fine. Video on the other hand, I constantly notice between quality Blu-Ray, overly compressed rips and streaming.

Speak for yourself. I only stream audio while driving, and YT is my only streaming video. Otherwise I'm physical media all the way.

Convenience is antithetical to meaning.

I miss flipping through channels and discovering shows and movies I would never have gone out of my way to even try.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

thats still a thing but now its just previews or trailers of whatever is on whatever streaming service you use

alternatively, try the 1001 blank books

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 months ago

Well that's the cutest human centapide I have seen yet.

I suffer from ennui.

I've found a fix though. Take a deep breath. Of N2O

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

What's an Ennui?

I constantly switch between feeling like there's nothing to watch, listen to, play etc. and "there's too much! I don't have enough hours in a day and mental energy to get through all of this, even though I want to."

But the older I get the better I am at not feeling forced by myself or others to just devour everything and it gets easier and easier to space things out. The stuff won't go away, and I'd rather take my time with it than binging everything and then having to go back to stuff I originally felt "meh" about just to have something to do, it's a waste of time.

Marquise, is that you?
