Thought I was having an aneurysm. Nope, an "ice pick headache". It happens all of a sudden -- for me, at my temple for 10 seconds -- and then goes away.

If I don't comment after this, please send help.

For me, my headache/migraines w/e, are like pseudo ice-pick or I have a high pain tolerance (I also have fibro). But feels ocular, it's always only one eye or the other that hurts. 🙂‍↔️

MRI/MRA were clean too so at least there's that for me.

I get them frequently around this time of year and found that making myself as cold as possible is the only thing that helps. I usually use an ice pack, water, and a fan first (with my head buried in a pillow to block out any sound) and if that's not enough, I'll go sit outside on the porch in a tshirt until I cool off and it goes away. It's super weird but it works.

Same! It's usually my right eye, and if I close it it helps. Doesn't stop entirely, but dampens it quite a bit.

I also have fibro, and I get headaches that feel like an ice pick stabbing me through the eye too. I didn’t think it was related, but maybe it is?

Lol same, I always think oh crap an aneurysm is gonna pop now. First time I hear of this kind of headache.

I feel it helps imagining that you breathe into the picking area.

My dad once caught my mom fumbling through a drawer in the night looking for a gun to ease the pressure in her head.

I get left side migraines that last a day or two; ice picks behind an ear that last a few seconds - worse if I'm going between hot/cold areas a lot like in/out of buildings; and ocular migraines, usually if I've been upside down - looks like I'm looking through camo mesh for awhile and then a dull headache for a few hours. I mostly use cbg, water, and a little caffeine; then Aleve and Tylenol; then maxalt.

"Cluster headaches"

Sitting in my closet, rocking back and forth waiting for it to be over. Exactly the same, I told my wife afterwards "If I'd had an ice pick, I would have shoved it through my eye."

He wouldn't stop yammering on about the revolution.

Can't a man have a cocktail in peace?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Dude, I am happy as hell for you that it took this long to experience one.

In related news, researchers finally found somebody who knows what getting stabbed with an ice pick actually feels like.

That's nice, dear.
