If this was ~~Jason Mendoza’s~~ Manny Jacinto’s only opportunity to play Darth Bortles, I will set fire to a god-damn space-witch castle. That man is a treasure and absolutely stole every scene he was in.
Otherwise… 50/50. I liked it enough that I wanted to see what would happen, and I feel like the pacing will work better for those who get to binge it, but some of the criticisms about script, budget, etc. were more than fair.
Manny played my favorite character (I liked others too, but they clearly won't be in season 2.)
I hope they can find a story for him in a few years and he can continue his journey. Just have the Acolyte story "not work out" but bring him back with someone new.
Oh wow. I don't believe I didn't recognize him from the Good Place. I think the show had good potential. There was some issues, but nothing unforgivable.
"Fans" are ruining Star Wars by being okay with Disney putting out so much stuff that it's starting to dilute the franchise.

While I don't fully disagree with your statement. I do however find it humorous as a whole, that the fandom has more often than not, been begging for more Star Wars movies and TV shows. And then when we/they get more, there seems to be a rift in the fandom. Not to mention any review bombing for a plethora of reasons, but the incels in particular.
That being said, I was perplexed how they were going to keep so many TV shows going and interesting enough to make each, three seasons or more. They've proven it with The Mandalorian that they can go the 'distance.' (I found myself losing interest during season 3, in the last 3 episodes. And I'm hoping that they have been able to glean from their past writing and grow.)
A new movie every 5 years would be fine. But they just shut down an entire theme park resort. They keep making spinoff after spinoff after spinoff. Just look at the Series schedule on the right of this community!
4 new shows per year is absolutely stupid. Production value, story, everything has absolutely been paper thin because Disney wants to milk the FUCK out of this franchise as quickly as they can.

At least that frees up more time for me to watch dashcam/lock picking/police body cam videos on YouTube for free, while I continue to pay for Disney+.
If true, it's a pity as I wanted more Darth Plagueis and there seemed like more story left to uncover that would have an impact on the start of the Skywalker Saga.
Shame, I just finished the first season and was surprised how good it was. I don't even know why the chuds were mad at this one.
The writing was terrible, the acting was subpar, the action scenes were terribly directed, and the story was one trope after another. After I was done with the first episode I laughed out loud at how bad it was. Maybe I'm too picky with what I watch now, but this was some CW level bullshit. Not even good CW. Like Arrow Season 4 CW.
I thought the Sith character was the most compelling Star Wars villain since Vadar. Speaking of, the depiction of the Jedi order gives more pathos to Anikin's fall than all three prequels.
I once got into a fistfight with a friend because he said Boba Fett's rocket could take down my ATAT. As I've matured, I take the particulars of the lore way less seriously. Besides, of all the people who've told Star Wars stories, George Lucas isn't in the top 5.
Here is a 6 minute YouTube video that pretty much sums up all of my complaints with it. The story was entertaining, but when you think about it for any length of time, it breaks down HARD.

I haven't watched any of it, but is it the one with open flames of a fire burning in a vacuum? I mean, I get its space opera and not hard science fiction, but c'mon.

I haven’t watched season 1 yet; is it worth bothering with if there isn’t going to be a season 2?
I really liked that it was set in the old republic. Usually just the books go into that time segment and I’m sad that it’s not going to get a second season.
I wanted to like it for the same reason originally, but it isn’t even set in the old republic. The Acolyte is set just 132 years before the battle of Yavin.

I rather enjoyed it unlike Kenobi and The Book of Boba Fett, it did a lot of things right and I was interested in seeing where it went. I have no regrets having watched it and hope some of the dangling threads are picked up elsewhere (I wouldn't be surprised if they announced a comic book based in the season 2 plans).
I found it fairly entertaining on the whole and it leaves off in a way that I would say is final enough but clearly could use a season 2. Honestly I'd say you could literally flip a coin to decide and either way it's fine.
It wasn't the worst thing I've ever watched, but I didn't think it was very good. I do think it is a good thing for them to be willing to keep trying different formulas in the StarWars universe though ... seem they are going with the shotgun approach to see what hits they get... they spend lots of money, employ lots of people, and every once in a while we get something great.

Has anyone else got the feeling that a lot of what Disney has done since Solo and TROS has felt sort of claustrophobic and small? I think to make the reality of TV budgets work, you have to write around them, and make the smallness part of the fabric of the show, and there's only so many types of stories you can tell that way.
Something that gets overlooked with Andor (and fair enough, it's clearly the best season of SW TV, or maybe second best if Mando S1 scratches the itch for you better), is how they managed a large but finite budget so much better than some of these other shows. Setting an entire arc inside a prison lets you tell a story that only needs a couple of sets. Embedding with rebel cells that aren't even allowed to know others exist is how you keep two TIE Fighters terrifying. They saved on stuff like alien makeup which, while missed, didn't kill the show's vibe. In addition to being a great script, it was also a very clever production.
By contrast, cramming the entire Jedi order into three rooms at the temple and a fiberglass Disneyworld queueing area makes it feel cheap and small and just highlights any issues with the dialogue and acting (which were not much worse than the stilted garbage that GL pulled out of Samuel L. Jackson, Terence Stamp, and Natalie Portman, tbh).
In other shows, I'm super happy for the cosplay gods whose Stormtrooper armor is good enough not to be visually distracting, but grabbing a dozen of them to save on kitting out the extras and/or CGI, and all to cram an action sequence into a Volume soundstage looks psychologically underwhelming even when it's technically impressive to pull off what they do manage. When the fate of the Galaxy is at stake, that dissonance is very distracting.
I'm generally easier on Disney SW than some people, but this an area that has increasingly started to grate on me. It's even more infuriating that I can't quite place the exact spot where it turns for me, but there is a distinct feeling I'm getting that their ambitions are outstripping the resources made available. If you can't make an epic setting feel epic, then just... wait... or animate.
I watched it, thought the plot and the end were totally transparent and predictable. Thought the acting was pretty bad, the fighting was laughable at times, and the reveal at the end a complete waste of time, but I still enjoyed it. I would have watched a second season.

At the end of the day, everything star wars is criticized because the fan base is so die hard. Just watch and form your own opinion. I didn't like the prequels or the sequels, but over time, the prequels grew on me. Most of the series Disney made I enjoyed, some are better than the others, but I didn't particularly dislike any of them (Acolyte was least enjoyable imo though). If I had to rate them, probably Mandalorian, Andor, Ahsoka, Book of Boba Fett, Kenobi then Acolyte. But again, everyone is different and has different opinions.
Clone Wars was also worth a watch imo. When it came out, I didn't watch because it seemed like a kids show, but I watched it recently and enjoyed it. Rebels was OK too, but again, keep in mind it was a kids show on the Disney channel. But the characters show up in the newer series' as well.

Worst Star Wars TV show yet. Given the development hell it went through it's not really a surprise. There were things to like about it that didn't make it a complete waste of time but not many.

Kenobi was incredibly stupid, I still think the book of boba fett was a worse show. Acolyte was slightly above kenobi.
I never watched Boba Fett because the concept was so stupid, I just couldn't. Retcon for profit.
