I wanted to like it for the same reason originally, but it isn’t even set in the old republic. The Acolyte is set just 132 years before the battle of Yavin.

Mercury was used to stiffen hats for a long time. That is also the background for the “mat hatters”.
If that is how you define being gay then…. guess I’m gay now.
