They filled up every single gap from episode 1 to 9 (well except that whole emperor returning thing), so it makes sense to do something completely different.
Wouldn't that show the grandchildren already owning the product?

They can provide for multiple generations when they die.
They are combating old russian vehicles with cheap modern consumer products. They have been improvising all kinds of weapons during this war and probably know a lot more about it than other countries atm due to experience. I don't think america has ever fought a war like this.
