Had a lot of jobs over the last 12 years? You don't say.

They're not wrong. You don't have to have federal taxes taken from your paycheck. If they insist, they might be doing some shady accounting.

Yeah. HR should be able to handle this. I looked into doing this once but decided it was ultimately more of a hassle than just fine tuning my withholding to owe next to nothing each year.

Y'know.... It costs just $65 to become an ordained minister in the UU church. Officiate one wedding or funeral and boom!, you're on the gravy train to Exemption Country.

There's something wrong with the image you linked. It shows an infinite long light grey box.

$90 of withholding seems pretty low unless the pay periods are weekly. Seems low enough that this person might not end up owing a lot of taxes anyway.

They'll definitely spend enough hours on this one issue to have easily earned as much money doing almost any labor.

"but it's the principle of the matter!"

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 months ago

No, it actually is. Paying federal taxes through your employer is optional.

The IRS is going to get its fucking money, but it doesn't have to be the employer doing it, and it's weird that they insist.

Reminds me I caught my first one in the wild the other day. Note the replaced bumper, and still visible damage to the front left. I'm sure they have insurance /s
