Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Imagine what would happen if the party listened to its membership more frequently.

Imagine if Hillary had spent a single day campaigning in Michigan in 2016!

1 of 3,573 imaginings.

IT WAS HER TURN THOUGH!!!!!!1!!1!

Not saying she adequately campaigned for Michigan, but she did have a rally in Detroit in Nov. 2016.

But then things might happen that their sponsors don't like! Can't have that now, can we?

Trump should just quit now.

I've been hearing it everywhere, for years even.

Imagine if they did the same thing and promoted Vance to their nominee. The incumbent VP and respected district attorney vs a right-wing project 2025 nutjob who was only chosen because he was younger than 80.

I wonder how many magabrained would sit out. They really do worship donnie like some kind of god. I wonder if they'd have the same love for JD. I somehow doubt it. The dumb brand that donnie created via that game show he was given did this country a lot of damage...I'm not sure quite so many would be lulled to a zombie state like that for JD, because really, who the fuck is jd? But rappers and so on thought donnie was rich and a badass and banging porn stars and busting into the dressing rooms of teenage pageants and grabbing all kinds of pussy, etc....and so did a whole lot of rubes. No one is rapping about JD.

Oooh no you don't. I ain't letting any of you off the voting hook. Why? Because we have more work to do after we send him off as a Nation. Apart from stopping a likely second coup attempt, I would like us to continue the momentum to enact true positive change through a grassroots movement so large it'll make old Bernie tear up.

After years of disappointment and abject apathy… what is this feeling I’m feeling? Hopeful?

[–] [email protected] 32 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Do you remember the feeling of hope frodo?

Some Black guy in a tan suit had a word for it in the past.

Hope? I think it was Hope. But I can't be sure, it's been so long.

Perhaps this is a "New Hope"?

Willing to bet she'll obliterate him on the debate stage too.

[–] negativenull 47 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Like he'll actually show up to a debate with Harris

[–] APassenger 10 points 3 months ago

He will if he has Covid and thinks he can try to get her sick too.

Like that other time...

Trump's handlers are too smart to let that happen. If it somehow does happen even with their protestations, it will be required watching for me. A 59-year-old mom against Donald Trump? I'll make popcorn.

This is what I'm most excited to see. Biden is a perfectly fine Democrat president but not a particularly great public speaker in terms of politicians. And the age certainly didn't help. I wouldn't be surprised if Trump decides he doesn't want to debate like he did back in 2020.

As much as I'd love to see it, I'd bet Trump is too afraid of her to agree to one.

LOL, what a world. Just let that sink in that donnie being a convicted felon meant more donations. The right sure do have their kink.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 3 months ago (2 children)

I guess Biden wasn’t exaggerating when he complained about elites wanting him out.
