At least 71 Palestinians have been killed in an Israeli air strike that hit a densely populated area of displaced people in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis in Gaza, the Hamas-run health ministry says.

The Israeli military had designated this area as a safe zone, urging Palestinians to seek shelter there.

I feel sick. I hope all Israeli war criminals will end up in prison, starting with Netanyahu.

Israel is a terrorist Nazi extremist group.

By the way how many times has israel now bombed a place and claimed they killed Deif while bombing Palestinian civilians?

Israeli intelligence sources believe that Deif was likely killed in an August 19, 2014, airstrike in Gaza City during Operation Protective Edge, a claim that Hamas has repeatedly denied, although Gaza-based officials have confirmed the deaths of Deif’s wife and two of his children in the strike.

I don't want to live in a world where this is ok and everyone just turns a blind eye.

Is bombing a dense refugee camp cheaper than operating a death camp? And does the Remote Killing aspect of it change the cost equation?

Can someone do the math?

[–] FelixCress 2 points 4 months ago

Probably. It saves them the cost of barbed wire and crematoriums. Plus, they are able to keep pretending Holocaust was a one off and they are definitely not commiting one now.....

Funny how the descendants of victims turned into perpetrators, eh?

This is the best summary I could come up with:

At least 71 Palestinians have been killed in an Israeli air strike that hit a densely populated area of displaced people in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis in Gaza, the Hamas-run health ministry says. The Israeli military had designated this area as a safe zone, urging Palestinians to seek shelter there.More than 289 people were injured in the strike, according to the health ministry's statement. The Israeli military said it is looking into the incident.

Israeli media is reporting that senior Hamas leader Mohammed Deif was a target of the attack.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will hold security talks through the day, his office said according to Reuters.

An eyewitness told the BBC that the site of the strike looked like an "earthquake" had hit, and videos from the area show smouldering wreckage and bloodied casualties being loaded onto stretchers.

People can be seen trying desperately to pick through the rubble of a large crater with their hands.Footage from the nearby Kuwait field hospital revealed chaos with patients being treated on the floor.A Hamas official, cited by Reuters, called the attack a “grave escalation” that showed Israel was not interested in reaching a ceasefire agreement.

The original article contains 195 words, the summary contains 195 words. Saved 0%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!
