Have you actually seen Idiocracy? There's a whole lot of fuckery being glossed over here.

[–] lightnegative 1 points 8 months ago

What else was he going to drink? Water?

[–] acockworkorange@mander.xyz 10 points 8 months ago

Consider they are morons. They did delegate the problem to the person they saw was the expert and implemented the expert’s idea. They didn’t have much patience, but you can’t dispute the delegation.

[–] TheMightyCanuck@sh.itjust.works 49 points 8 months ago (4 children)

Is...... is this supposed to be a meme?

[–] Bahnd 46 points 8 months ago (2 children)

No, they are 100% correct. President Comacho delegated to experts, which is something very few politicians today would do.

[–] rockerface@lemm.ee 14 points 8 months ago (2 children)

Delegation is a skill that has to be taught. I know because I had to learn it

[–] Kiosade@lemmy.ca 15 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I feel like the basic idea of delegation (assigning roles/tasks) is simple enough. If anything, it’s effective delegation that is tough because you have to know the capabilities of your people, and who would best be suited for what.

This guy here is like, guilty your honor. Like, he talks like a total removed. (Great movie)

[–] Frozengyro 13 points 8 months ago

I didn't have to learn it, just delegated other people to learn it for me.

Only after trying to have him executed.

[–] AngryCommieKender 2 points 8 months ago

He appointed him Secretary, and instituted the improvements Not Sure suggested. He tried to execute him when he got impatient, and the economy was crashing because no one understood why the improvements were suggested.

Then when Not Sure was proven correct, the President made Not Sure President. So it was before and after trying to have him executed due to impatience.

Brawndo has what plants crave, it's got electrolytes.

[–] Steak@lemmy.ca 30 points 8 months ago
[–] foobaz 4 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, but what are electrolytes?

[–] ivanafterall@kbin.social 10 points 8 months ago (1 children)

How haven't you encountered electrolytes? Are you still using candles?

[–] tooclose104@lemmy.ca 13 points 8 months ago (1 children)

[–] Shyfer@ttrpg.network 20 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Isn't the rest of his cabinet picked based off winning a contest, being a family member, or having tits?

[–] AnUnusualRelic 16 points 8 months ago (1 children)

A lot of people make great careers thanks to a good set of tits.

[–] GeekyOnion 8 points 8 months ago

Sometimes "getting your foot in the door" takes more than a foot.

[–] RememberTheApollo_ 16 points 8 months ago

The point is the idiocracy exists and it’s so bad that the best they can do is elect someone who is, at best, average. That’s the joke. Yeah, the decision to put someone in charge who is smarter than the rest of them is admirable and pokes at our own politicians, but nonetheless the idiocracy exists.
