That guy would, with a straight face, steal their tips too. Huuuuge piece of shit.

What? did I miss that part? please explain.

I disagree with his final conclusions... If we all try to be nicer to the driver, give them 5 stars, they're still being abused.

You need better laws to protect them.

Also, don't become a gig worker, you WILL be abused

A lot of people that are doing it are between jobs and are looking for something more stable.

I did that. I was abused the entire time by an app with no means of communicating with those in control of the app. Sure, I could go and yell at support over being fucked over when a bundled order took me 10 miles farther than the app said it would and there was no tip attached, but they were also being abused since they were contract workers in India who had no means to alter my pay.

The guy in the video was right, these apps are leaches. I'm sorry if you're currently having your blood sucked by them; I hope the trips are short and the tips are good.

Fun fact: If you're subscribed to the channel, sometimes full episodes pop up in your notifications. Even if you're too slow to see it before it is removed, you may be able to watch on the YT alternatives. This has happened twice for me so far (the episode this segment was from came up last sunday), though I wouldn't be shocked if this was some marketing tactic.

They are releasing full episodes onto YouTube. I can see past full episodes of S11 whenever, and they say they plan to upload past seasons as well (announcement video). Maybe it's a regional restrictions thing that is preventing you to see full episodes.

VPN to South America

[–] umbraroze 13 points 10 months ago

They stated that they will be releasing full episodes on YouTube in regions where they don't have an exclusivity contract.

I'm in Finland, can see the full episodes. I don't think the show is on any terrestial/cable channel here, only HBO Max/Nordic.

Odd, i did see the full episode for this season, none is getting removed, and i lived in south east asia. They did mentioned this is getting released unrestricted to the world though. Maybe it's a glitch?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I am in USA, so I wouldn't doubt them only restricting it here (or whatever places they serve their paid service, but USA-only is a common thing).

Huh, that's even weirder. Can you see the full episode on his channel? I have no idea why it happen.

Just saw this like an hour ago! Our locals are funny, they actually will cancel your online offer and ask you to call to remake the order at a fraction of the price. (They're super cheap, and charge you extra if you use a card because that carries a fee they don't want to pay, haha)

[–] [email protected] 5 points 10 months ago

It's not the card fees they're avoiding. It's the paper trail when it comes to doing their taxes. That's the nice thing about a family run business. You don't need bank transfers and wage slips. You just divvy up the cash and keep your gobs shut.
