Why would you tell women what you make?
I make well into 6 figures but I feel like advertising that while dating is a recipe for failure

That’s exactly why I start every conversation by telling women I’m homeless.
Kidding aside, I agree that you should talk financials after a time but if they’re asking super early about how much you make, that’s a red flag.
Option 1: Buy yourself the appearance of an insufferable snob, with expensive clothes, expensive car, and expensive aesthetical surgeries.
Option 2: Do not say it directly, but rather make it apparent through context, such as talking of a travel you've made to a place that is generally considered to be expensive.
Option 3: Tell them directly how much you make and that you want them to fuck and marry your money.
Option 4: Don't do any of those things and let them discover naturally instead of acting like you need to compensate for something.
Because it’s a flex. People do it all the time. I don’t agree with it but it’s common.
You call yourself an expert and you don't even have some throw away phone numbers ready on your tool belt
Amateurs! My VOIP provider is behind seven proxies!
My proxies are behind 8 physical walls in the middle of a field in Nebraska and I live in Europe!
So you live in europe... Interesting
Oh no! You've pinpointed my exact continent! Time for my contingency plan of moving to an undisclosed galaxy!
I will find you. And if it takes as long as it takes light to the nearest galaxy.
When you do, could you bring some snacks? I'm feeling a bit peckish..
So now we've narrowed it down to the UK. Making progress.
Nope lol, I just like some of their expressions 😁
Suffering from success
There are ways to be anonymous... It's just that it's mostly used by drug dealers and other criminals
Oh that’d be nice to make six figures lol. Will getting a SSCP get me there? [I dont think i live in a HCOL area]
I kinda hate to be like this, but if you are in a tech position, past the early entry level nonsense, and not making six figures (in the US) then you need to be job hunting.
I don't know if any particular certification will get you there, but IT remains a great practical field to be in. Don't make any sort of "I'm just in this for the money" apologies.
I kind of got lucky and got promoted into a IT Security Analyst position without any certs. I have no idea if anything I’m doing is actual cybersecurity analyst work or if its just what my company thinks it needs. Scheduled to take my SSCP later this month with implications a title change and raise if I pass, though trying to study for it has not been going well [after paid -for training]. I’ve thought of trying to apply for a similar role at another company but not exactly enjoying incident response. Love the company and team I’m on tho.
