Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Hating someone off of their race, culture, creed, sexuality, or identity is not remotely acceptable. Mistakes can happen but do your best to respect others.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon' and fuck over our artist friends.

Fun will now commence.

For reference, Equinox (part I) and (part II) Pretty messed up, even Janeway won't condone it.

Equinox was a great set of episodes.

That said, it pissed me off because they blew up the second ship. How rad would it be if for the rest of voyager, they had 2 spaceships? It would have been really interesting and I would have loved it. Yes I know the equinox was slow but sprinkle a bit of engineering and technobabble and it would have been awesome.

Stargate Atlantis screwed this one up too. On multiple occasions they found an awesome ancient battleship, flew it around, and then the writers blew it up in order to reset the status quo.

Let's not leave out '03 BSG. Admiral Adama... for about a day.

Wasn't it more like a year? Otherwise I gonna ask how Lee got so fat so fast.

The Expanse does it right. And Hitchhiker's Guide. Hmm I can't think of any others, anyone else know any stories with a "finds and keeps awesome ship" plot point?

Enterprise keeps one of the Suliban cell ships, and uses it a couple times

I just finished The Dark Forest and I now know why saving the ship wouldn't have worked under any circumstance

I thought these were a pair of truly thought-provoking episodes.

I thought a lot about the complicit officers of the Equinox who were transferred to be lower deckers on Voyager, with restricted access to ships systems.

I’d really hoped there would be an episode that followed up on some of them. Some of them had experience and expertise that might have been valuable in some future situations. Instead they were effectively house-arrest passengers for the rest of the voyage in contrast to the Maquis officers. It was another opportunity to have some continuity that seemed to have been offside in the final seasons.

It's a shame, but even with DS9, serialized stories rarely included follow up characterization. Just look at O'Brien, who by all rights, should have included a scene or two of therapy for any episode he was in. He suffers from mind prison PTSD within that episode and nothing further.

If only it were Tuvix-fueled, she would have found a way.

Are you aware that neither of the pages linked has anything on them? Or, they didn't for me anyway

[–] ummthatguy 8 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I tested them before posting. Might be your end.

Well shit :(

That's what shows for me

[–] ummthatguy 5 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Beats me. I can get through.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

You need to an additional parentheses at the end of your link, because of markdown formatting.

[–] ummthatguy 2 points 7 months ago

Give it a whirl now. I just checked mobile and desktop and both were good. Any better?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

You are probably missing a parenthesis, like https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Equinox,_Part_II_(episode instead of https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Equinox,_Part_II_(episode)

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

Yup, the link in my app is missing that. Dunno if it's the app, the link, or what, but that fixed it
