Since im a complete idiot i tested this.

from my research i determined that:

  1. its not able to effectivly pierce cloth and skin
  2. without the tip, the dart almost never stays in a orientation where the pin is against your skin

this was tested with a Recon mkII modified with a 5kilo spring.

conclusion: waste of darts

Mine were going about 1/4 inch into drywall from 20 feet away.

Damm bro what spring you using?

Out of the box Nerf Triad and Jolt

Also i should have added that my push pins (I think) shorter than the ones you're using so that might be a big factor on the "pierciness" of the darts

Might need pics of your dart. My push pins are basically the generic ass push pins that every American office supply store sells.

Ah.

its possible that the stronger spring made the darts rotate more. Was it on every shot or once in a while?

Works every time.

I was hoping one of you nerds with the modded Nerf stuff would try this out. The guys I went to school with who did HvZ and had modded Nerf stuff are exactly the same ones who would be curious and foolish enough to try this. This is great, thanks for sacrificing your darts.
