DVD's? Not even Blu-Rays? Not even at my most desperate did I watch 480p videos on Pornhub, c'mon now.

Amateur porn looks like shit sometimes, but 9 times out of 10, it's way better than the overproduced pro BS.
Though PH has done a pretty good job introducing the third "pro/am" quality tier that can be pretty good, I will still often take a 480p amateur video taken with a potato over the shiny, overproduced garbage.
Smartphones have done wonders for amateur production quality. Way less likely to run into out of focus shots with white balance that makes everything yellow.
Be thankful for what you have back in my day if we wanted to see boob we had to rewind a VHS of Robocop
If you wanted to see 3 boobs you had to rewind a copy of Total Recall
The difference between 480p and 720p videos isn't that big. Yeah, 720p looks nice, but 480p doesn't look horrendous.
Source: All the YouTube videos I watch are in 480p, and have been doing so since before 720p stopped being considered HD for some reason. I live in the Third World and my Internet connection is 10 down/1 up.
It actually is that big. It's so big, 480p uses a different encoding. Small text is unreadable in 480p, but only slightly blurry in 720p.
I can't remember the last time I had to read tiny text during a movie.
You mentioned YouTube, which is 99% made of content other than movies.
I can't remember the last time I read tiny text on YouTube either.
Good for you, I guess? I do it all the time.
Friend, things used to be so much worse. And that was just how it was
