For-profit healthcare. >70,000 people die per year in the US because they simply cannot go to the doctor due to price gouging. Many finally find out that they have a disease too late when it is already terminal.

It’s disgusting that healthcare and education industries are commodified.

Come on down to Texas where we have all that plus for-profit prisons, for-profit public transportation, and for-profit public utilities.

Oh man! No thanks! 😂 I’m sorry about your state, friend. It really does feel too far gone for saving. Though I might say that about the entire US, even the state I live in, MA, has its own neoliberal brand of crony capitalism that is more obfuscated but functionally similar. They like to pretend they’re helping you but implement incredibly specific means-testing stipulations. To get MassHealth, for example, you have to make less than $30,000/year (or something crazy like that) in a state where the lowest rent you EVER find is $1200/month for a literal crack den.

Oh it is which is why we are moving. Funny enough we are looking at the New England area.
