I guess it isn't a particularly accurate term since the air boat's engine is more high pitched, but I use the term to evoke a sort of "perpetual rumbling" vibe, since when you're just driving it in straight lines for many maps its like riding on an airplane and (barring any noise cancelling devices) the noise of the engine is ever present.

That's interesting! I could totally see that being a factor, since I am not too good with noisy things. Maybe I'll check if turning volume off improves things.
