how to spot an American Toilet
(American denotes continentality. the Nationality would be US-American)

Edit:
lmao i love how this one Person downvoted me. Let me explain:
what we see here is an exploded Compressor.
Compressors are used in Vacuum Toilets.
Vacuum Toilets are used in the Americas and GB
Europe uses Flush-Toilets

Edit: i obviously mean siphonic toilets instead of vacuum toilets and washdown-toilets instead of flush-toilets. my bad

In English, "American" by itself refers unambiguously to the United States of America because, (again) in English, there is no continent called "America."

America uses flush toilets unless you're on an airplane. Besides, we can clearly see a huge water tank, which is how flush toilets work.

  1. you are absolutely correct. The correct Terms are siphonicä- and washdown-toilets. My mistake.
  2. if there are "american Continents" and they can be referred to as "the Americas" then i would deduct that all the objects within those Continents are also "American"

Unfortunately not though, because "American" is already used exclusively in reference to the USA. There is no adjective to refer to things from the Americas collectively. One of these two possible uses is extremely common and the other is extraordinarily rare. If you need the rare option, you need multiple words and can't shorten it.

American denotes continentality

Please draw a big red circle around the continent "America" as I went to public school in the US and am the big dumb and can't seem to find it.

i mean, yes, you are right, but i did, in my original Comment, write:

are used in the Americas and great Britain

Americas in Plural.

i am not that stupid.
or at least i hope so...

what? where did you get the idea that america doesn't use flush toilets? I don't think there's any country that uses vacuum toilets

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

you're right, the Correct Term is a siphonic Toilet. 100% my Mistake.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I've never seen a vacuum toilet with a tank.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

correct. it's a siphonic toilet. my mistake, sorry.
