What a spry fellow. Full of vim and vigor! Would vote right now.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

biden probably still thinks of vim as the new version of vi

I mean... I'll take Joe over Trump any day of the week. Twice on Sunday.

Still would rather see AOC run.

What does that mean ? "Just like we drew it up" ?

This was posted right after the Chiefs won the Superbowl in 2024. There was a MAGA theory going around that Biden was going to rig the game for the Chiefs, Taylor Swift was going to endorse him, and then everyone who watched the game would be brainwashed into voting for him.

when do you think the last time someone unironically used vim in a sentence apart from vigor

it’s like they are married words, ah the romance

That's called a fossil word, a word that only ever gets used in a specific phrase. When was the last time you heard the word "inclement" outside of the phrase "inclement weather"?

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 days ago

YAYY WIKIPEDIA RABBIT HOLE TY

[–] thebeardedpotato 5 points 2 days ago

What’s crazy is that my brain didn’t even understand how to read “inclement” for a second until I saw “inclement weather.”

[–] FuglyDuck 4 points 2 days ago

and the phrase is "how do I exit VIM?" because nobody actually says vim and vigor anymore.

PBS just did a YouTube short on fossil words: https://youtube.com/shorts/nkvMOwhs2YQ
