There were some leaks or rumors that the main protagonist of the new Witcher game will be somebody new from the new School of the Lynx.
I was excited to play as somebody completely new and somebody who isn't in Geralt's circle.
Ciri is a great character though and I'm looking forward to the game either way.
Ciri’s medallion in the trailer was a Lynx medallion. It’s probable we will see a new character that’s a Lynx witcher, maybe either a student or teacher to Ciri.
