Lemmy is an echo chamber but I'll say if for those rare republicans in the back:
If a prominent democrat has skeletons like this in their closet, they deserve the same scrutiny / disrepute as any republican.

I read his comment as also being addressed to the Republicans in the back: a concurrence, not a rebuttal.
So many people online take replies as contradictions when they're meant to be support. It's frustrating.
Let's not get this twisted, there are likely zero Republicans on lemmy, and if there are, they can only be counted on one hand.

Yeah, that's why the democrats called for the immediate resignation of weiner, Adams, menenedez, and cuomo. Republicans circle wagons every time one of their own is credibly accused. Even bringing it up in the same context is disingenuous.
