God damn Disco Elysium is a good RPG. The best even. But I think it would be even better with combat. I did drugs that make me wanna hurt people, but the only one I can physically hurt is myself. If I want to inflict damage on others, it has to be mentally by saying shit like "I want to kill myself. Watch me kill myself on stage while I sing the saddest song in the universe."

It makes it stand out from the others in the genre. I don't think it would be a good addition, maybe it would be fine in a sequel or something, although from what I've heard the studio has fallen apart since then. But adding a simple combat system when it isn't the focus would probably just make the game feel indecisive and half-baked.

What if the enemies you fight are just a metaphor for battling your inner demons?
