I mean it is a center of mass shot, but he's still probably felt it. If you go for the brain box it would actually be a painless death. As long as your aim was decent. I remember there's a guy who survived blowing his own face off because he aimed badly while trying to eat a bullet. I don't know whatever happened to him, he probably died later.
Depends on where you shoot. You wanna hit the brain stem for a biological blue screen.
