I bought the nebula 49. Can't wait to get my hands on it!

I'm glad the LW admins have the foresight to consider things like this and other areas of concern. It's good to see LW admin admit when they don't know enough about something and are being cautious. I don't think Discord should be the place for any announcements though. Hopefully LW can get the legal protections or assurances necessary to host all of the content people want to see.

Writing by hand with a pen you like on nice quality paper can be enjoyable. The best for me is when I journal on my typewriter.

I am happy with Proton.

I was also asked this question at 15 while being interviewed by the local Sears. I went on to sell shoes though. Cordless phones would have been cool.

This is so wonderful. Both easy and familiar to use and inspires much nostalgia of course. This is how I will Lemmy from desktop from now on.

I was against the talk of introducing a “Lemmy gold” until I stumbled on this comment.

I wish I could get over the learning curve with GIMP but tbh my current workflow involves a windows 10 virtual machine for Photoshop. It works for my needs without GPU pass through.

I’m using Evolution as I prefer their interface. I’m curious to give the new Thunderbird a try when there’s a flatpak.

Interesting. I had no idea.

Yeah, idk... I went to their website and the fries are not flagged for peanut allergy yet it also says "cooked in 100% peanut oil" so that does not inspire confidence lmao

This image from Smith-Corona advertising during the 1960's is probably the earliest reference to the idea of the Type-In, the practice of gathering together with our typewriters and celebrating our machines and what we create with them.

Anyone been to a type-in? How was it?

Sharing a pic of my trusty typing machine. Mostly used for letters, some journaling, and occasionally poetry. It likes to tackle forms too. Still got that German precision. Here's under the hood:

Sandwich Breads? (shop.schar.com)

What's everyone using for sandwiches? I'm using the Schar "Artisan Baker" but it's $8-9 per loaf, and I'm wondering what other options people like for making a plain old sandwich?

Anyone use this website or their App to find places to eat? The reviews have been helpful especially while traveling. I’d love to discover a FOSS project similar to this.

Hello,

I created [email protected] as a community to discuss anything related to avoiding gluten.

My household is GF due to a family member with celiac disease and in the past I got so many useful tips and information on avoiding gluten from Reddit that I wanted to start a GF group here on Lemmy.

If GF is relevant to you, please join us to discuss and share anything from recipes and cooking advice, your favorite restaurants and food products, or tips on how to avoid gluten in other areas, such as hair care products, etc.

Cheers

mrpibb
