Typical Boomer/Conservative move. They enjoy something and then enjoy it even more by telling everyone else they’re not allowed to use it.
I wish the press would stop asking fucking celebrities questions about social issues. They do not represent society and never will.
100% percent agreed with that point, but I also believe that bill was about downtown roads. The Gardner is a highway.
The intersection just underneath there (around Spadina down to Lakeshore) is worse. That does have a bike lane IIRC but it’s rare to see anyone use it. Taking the bike lanes out isn’t going to make anything better for anyone

You want bike lanes on the DVP, Gardner and 401? You’re far braver than I am.
Even if the city did add lanes, it likely would not fix this mess. Public transport is required for a city this size.
I suspect about 40% of the population would approve. Our rural population is very similarly aligned with rural Americans, which is why they’re all rooting that that vapid, low impact Trump-alike Polievre who is running essentially unopposed right now. I can see him rolling over if Trump and his good squad came a-knocking.
It’s also possible that Trump watched the first twenty minutes of the movie Canadian Bacon and thought it was his daily brief.
Canada really hasn’t. For some reason, people think the world listens to Canadian opinions. They don’t, but it’s helpful when they parrot the COP party lines. Helps spread the blame if everyone agrees.
The problem is more to do with the politicians willingness to ignore the electorate and instead take corporate money. It’s the same pretty much everywhere.
Until that changes, nothing improves.
People will only tolerate waiting if it’s for something that will personally benefit them.
Likewise, people hate waiting if it exclusively benefits someone else
…once again, making it very hard to separate them from the Republicans.
