For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

MODERATORS

It's so frustrating that something anybody even only peripherally aware of attempts to automate driving knew for years is only slowly coming out while the Apartheid Edgelord gets richer and richer from his lethal lies.

As a coda: Tesla Drivers Upset That Government Wants Their Cars to Be Safer

“Got to love government always making things less enjoyable,” tweeted a disappointed customer on Wednesday.

Apparently driving on misplaced faith that kills people is enjoyable. Tesla is a cult, not a car company.

This was funny tho

Particularly peeved was a man who tweeted: “So now it will become more of a nag. Between it and my wife I almost can’t use it. I will be stepping up my nagging defeat efforts. Been using [Autopilot] since 2015. I don’t need more nagging!”

I do not feel sorry for him.

Damn. Dudes choosing Musk over his wife.

To be fair, his wife made him pay for WinRAR...

[–] BleatingZombie 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I paid for WinRAR. It's useful and does exactly what it purports to. Tesla's autopilot on the other hand...

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

But you could get 7zip for free

[–] BleatingZombie 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You can get WinRar for free also. You're missing the point

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago

I think you're missing the point. Why would you pay for something (even when it's optional with a donation) when there is a better product that is free and open source and doesn't beg you to donate?

All the chucklefucks that think musk isn't just a dull normal are cultists.

I believe this is big money after asking my friend if they were affected by this recall in Canada. She says no, as she didn't pay the extra $10,000cdn for the autopilot option on her Model 3.

So is the math $10,000 x 2 million units that have the option? If so no wonder why he was able to buy Twitter...

IIRC, and they may have changed this practice (feel free to correct me Tesla fanboys), all cars ship with the autopilot hardware, wouldn't be shocked if they're all considered affected.

Why is the stock up though on recall news?

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 year ago

Teslas stock has always been a bit fucky. Their market cap (total value of all their shares) is greater than Toyota, Volkswagen, Daimler, Ford, and GM combined. It's crazy inflated imo.

Autopilot/FSD is such a tiny part of the business. The "recall" costs basically nothing to rectify.

Fixing a flaw that's killed people isn't trivial just bc it's a software update. One day soon, Tesla's stock is going to get an OTA correction.
