Someone doesn’t hip-hop…

I know the song. But 'steatopygous' is an adjective, as you can clearly see in the above dictionary entry, and thus not a valid replacement for the noun 'butts'.
Or to paraphrase you: Someone doesn't English…

I bet you’re really fun at parties. /s

It's really an ex-superlative though

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That's still an adjective.

No way, a GNU dictionary? Super cool

Yeah, it's built on top of the out of copyright 1913 Webster dictionary as well as a whole pile of crowdsourced updates. It's surprisingly thorough and quite good.

Neat, are you reading Robert Asprin's Thieves World? I heard that it's a great s&s series.

[–] seaQueue 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Read it a couple of months back and, yeah, it's a solidly good s&s series. They did an ebook release of the original 12 anthologies as four collected volumes a year or two ago and I picked them up for like $3/ea on sale earlier this year. I liked them so much I tracked down the hardback collected edition on eBay when I was done.

If s&s or "street level fantasy" is your thing they're definitely worth a read. Lots of work from familiar sf&f names from the 70s and 80s that you wouldn't usually associate with s&s so it's a cool read.
