“We love less competition”

WestJet is tightening given current economic conditions. When things clear up, we'll have more choice again as businesses are better able to take on cheap debt.

Honestly, who had high hopes?

Faced with an international flight, we certainly didn't go with AC, whose initialism really means "Accept Complications", nor the company whose name honestly sounds like someone saying "wheres the jet?" really fast.

We're okay with less competition, as that's what both major companies are already providing on the global scene: less competition.

We're going with a competitive airline, as these tickets are expensive, and I want to

  • arrive
  • on time
  • with my stuff

And while that's never a 100% guarantee, the odds and their recovery otherwise is going to be just so much better than either of the locals.
