Most stuff on reddit is aggregated content anyway (or even reposted). Can't somebody write a script to get the top contributions of the day and "crosspost" them to a suitable sub on lemmy? This would work better for certain content than for another, but stuff like funny memes would be no problem, right? I'm not looking at cat videos from Youtube and shitposts for the deep discussion in the comments.

There’s a whole instance scraping Reddit right now. lemmit.online

Their local communities on that instance can then be subscribed to for that type of content.

Course right now memes are mostly medieval gentry and pics are John Oliver, but that bot on that instance is doing what you’re asking about.

Edit: I don’t know how well it’s working for all types of content but text based ones seem to work okay.

That's good info, thanks!

You can request a sub to be pulled and mirrored at lemmit.online. Details on how to do so and how to access it are here":

I’m actually not sure I need or even want that. My Lemmy feed is nicer by the minute I feel. I now know how ti find stuff I like and it’s getting even better.

I really thought there’s no way I’m containing myself notnopening Reddit for once since the blackout and until the 30th (which will be when I delete my comments and the Accounts) but so far I resisted, and it felt quite easy actually. I’m usually quite bad at sticking to protest or abandoning a platform out of principle but this time feels differe, idk why.
