The only time I've been back to Reddit is when it's linked here and i only stay long enough to read the post and a few comments.
No Stupid Questions
No such thing. Ask away!
!nostupidquestions is a community dedicated to being helpful and answering each others' questions on various topics.
The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:
Rules (interactive)
Rule 1- All posts must be legitimate questions. All post titles must include a question.
All posts must be legitimate questions, and all post titles must include a question. Questions that are joke or trolling questions, memes, song lyrics as title, etc. are not allowed here. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.
Rule 2- Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material.
Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.
Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.
Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.
Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.
Questions which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.
Rule 6- Regarding META posts and joke questions.
Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.
If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.
Rule 7- You can't intentionally annoy, mock, or harass other members.
If you intentionally annoy, mock, harass, or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.
Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.
Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.
Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.
Let everyone have their own content.
Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here.

I've replaced the spot where Reddit Sync has been for like 10 years with a shortcut to Kbin. That said, I find myself browsing less as there's less content in the meantime. I try avoiding going to Reddit on my computer unless there's literally no other matching Google searches.
I hope we eventually get a lot of that random historical context and information reposted at some point onto any Lemmy instance.
I scrubbed all my Reddit post and comment data just before the blackout then, after the admins started doing their stupid shit and booting mods out of subs so they could open them again, deleted my account entirely.
I've now blackholed all of Reddit's domains on my Pi-hole servers and added a regex to exclude the same domains from any search results on my Whoogle instance.
Spez can get fucked. Not one more bit of data from me to Reddit.
I'm now working on getting my own Lemmy instance up and running for my close circle of friends/family that are interested in also making a break.

No comment here, just laughing at the stroke this sentence would give someone 30 years ago.
I am still trying to figure out what exactly means to subscribe/register in a instance instead of another in the fediverse. I'm currently using kbin.social, but not yet sure what that means in the end as far as content delivery and reach and I consider myself quite tech savy, so this part is a bit more difficult. Apart from this, I am lacking a solid Android app, so if there's anything good out there, please do let me know.
I haven't been back to Reddit since Monday last week
I‘m barely on Reddit anymore, just when a search drops me there. I‘ve been trying to establish a new Bass player Community here [email protected], so if any of you want to contribute: Let‘s get it moving! Hope we can achieve a stable alternative to Reddit for once.
I haven’t been back. Creddit can get fucked. Apollo deserved better.
In saying that, I have missed the abundance of content. In saying that, Lemmy has grown in order of magnitudes since I got here a few weeks ago. And after the June 30 API cut, I think this place will jump in users.
Trying to find all my communities here. But some of my hobbies were niche and it was good on Reddit to see those already active. Even the lesser hobbies still don't have much traffic here
I only use Reddit when I'm forced to now. I don't do it on mobile at all.
I stopped using Reddit entirely. It's got too popular for its own good. The API thing was the last straw. Feels like whenever the money men take over something it goes to shit. These walled gardens are cancerous in a way that the average user doesn't understand until it's too late. The EU is the only big institution that is pushing back against this tendency and my countrymen decided they wanted to leave because they are too stupid to understand this kind of nuance.
Down with proprietary, closed, throwaway culture. Long live open, transparent, modular, reusable technology.
I haven't used Reddit for a week already
I've switched over, burned my account, and never looked back.
I'm spending more time in the Fediverse than Reddit, but I am browsing both. I'm probably 70% on the fediverse vs 30% on reddit at the moment. I've stopped posting or commenting on reddit though, and I've decided I won't use Reddit on my phone after 30th June; I will just remove the App I used.
One thing I would like to see is a Reddit script or extension that allows you to post content to Reddit AND duplicate it out to a community you're logged into in the Fediverse. I think that would help siphon off a lot of content and lower the threshold for users switching (at least the more technically minded users who would use tampermonkey). Unforunately I don't have the technical skills to do something like that.
Yes!
I'm waiting for my reddit history archive to be ready for download. I requested it last week and reddit is taking it's time. After I'm able to download the history, I'm going to destroy my 10 years of reddit post history with useless gibberish.
As of now, yeppp
Im on Lemmy for 95% of stuff, only go back to Reddit for wikis on subreddits like r/AsianBeauty and r/BodyweightFitness. I don’t participate at all on there, I’m just there for the wiki. Huge transition tbh considering that l used Reddit for a lot of basic questions I had: cooking, fitness, career, etc etc. When I’m using it to answer questions as fundamental as those I’d say it used to play a huge role in my daily routine.
I made a lemmy account today. I was trying mastodon but I don't love it yet. I've deleted reddit from my phone so I'll definitely be spending more time here
I'd say to effectively call yourself a Reddit refugee would mean that you are no longer on Reddit so ...^^
Some people might just be curious about Lemmy, but refugees are here because they don't want to use Reddit anymore so I'd expect every one of those to spend more time on Lemmy.
i barely use reddit nowadays. I still miss my niche communities but to offset the lack of variety, it feels like the content here is of higher quality
I haven't opened reddit in 4 days
I’m currently only using Reddit for very niche things that don’t have a place on Lemmy/Kbin at the moment. I’m probably gonna fully transition if those communities ever end up in the fediverse.
I'm not, but i enjoy the time i've spent using lemmy so far this past week (only setup an account today) much more.
I feel like I have spent more time on Lemmy than I used to on Reddit per day, but that’s likely because of the novelty of it. I assume my usage will level back out to effectively the same as I had on Reddit.
For now I am almost completly on lemmy and kbin.social (still undecided which I like more, I'll probably delete one account as soon as I decided, or I won't, we'll see :)). I only look at reddit once or twice a day. I kinda like it more here. Yes, the content isn't where it is at reddit (atm), but the atmosphere is so much nicer.
Time will tell. I didn't kiss reddit goodbye yet tbh.
Since I deleted both of my reddit accounts I've spent all me social time on Lemmy. First couple of days sucked, but now I'm really enjoying it.
Fresh off making a new account. Reddit, as much as we love it, will slowly be dying if this sort of thing keeps up. I am currently looking for new alternatives, just like dem settlers in the oregon trail.
I could die, lose my ~~shit~~ wagon, or get some good 'ol Dysentery, but I gotta try lookin'.
I'm on kbin but I've barely been on reddit at all since I switched. I'm enjoying watching the fediverse grow and begin to mature into the begining of a real threat to major social media monsters like reddit, twitter, Facebook, and others.
100% on Lemmy, I used a script to remove all my comments and posts from my account. The account is still there, but totally empty. Is Kbin accessable via Lemmy and vice-versa? Reddit is dead to me,
I've engaged here more than I ever did on Reddit
I'd like to but there just isn't strong enough engagement on Lemmy yet. It does seem like a really good viable alternative but I don't think enough Reddit users care enough about what's happening there to step away from it unfortunately. I'm continuing to use Reddit while my third party app still works but when that dies, I'll give strong consideration to giving it up as I don't want to line the chief wanker Spez's pockets.
