And many voted for him. As a veteran myself, I can't imagine both holding the stance of swearing to defend the constitution and then voting for the guy who tried to overthrow it once before.

And who has literally said in public that he considered suspending the constitution (not that that's a thing, but he would try to do it).

Why suspend it when you can just ignore it?

They also voted for George W, who sent them to their deaths so him and his friends could make a little money.

That was a different time. Patriotism was at a peak and most bought into the fabricated weapons of mass destruction evidence. At least long enough for it to be too late when we all realized it was all a lie.

Ok, but they reelected the shitbag AFTER it was clear we were lied to for profit. Patriotism or not, we knew what happened.

There's no reason being in the military should guarantee you a federal job. But the idea is right; we should actually be taking care of these people.

Was the military not a stable government job that offered healthcare?

Active duty and veterans have very different pay, and benefits. Veteran pay/benefits is largely centered on how bad their disability is, while active military pay can depend on the number of years you've served and level of rank you've achieved. An e7 veteran with 50% disability rating will earn less than an e3 with 100% rating.
