Tell the employees. Stuff like that spreads if they are allies.
I wish I had a Costco near me, but I got Aldi which is German owned and they let their cashiers sit down.
There have been multiple studies that show more diverse teams lead to better performance. DEI results in more diverse teams. Giving that up for a bloated orange manbaby is stupid.
Fuck yeah I spent $500 at Costco today, stocked up the freezer and the pantry for a while. Nice that I can basically buy all my food from a company that tries to be decent to its employees.
Keeping DEI also will keep these companies out of legal trouble if/when federal DEI requirements come back. Keeping it puts them in less trouble than whatever happens for not kowtowing to this admin.
I've had an executive membership for 15 or so years. Recently, I'd been planning to downgrade my membership because I didn't take advantage of the benefits enough to make the price worth it.
I changed my mind specifically because of their stance on DEI policies.
Trump, from one "executive" to another, sincerely, fuck you.
I’m torn, because these giant companies are inherently evil, but at least they’re bucking the trend and standing against oppression and fascism.
“Long term profitability” isn’t the most noble motive, but at least they’re doing something. I guess dark times make strange allies.

Actually, I'd argue that in the business world, that's actually one of the most noble goals out there. By trying to maximize in the long term, they sacrifice short term "line go up" profit to invest in their employees, leading to better conditions and happier workers.
Delta HQ is in Atlanta and when you look at the employees below executive level, you can see it. It's pretty diverse. Whether that's helped them become #1 in the US idk, but they seem to have capitalized on it.
Delta still has a large presence in MN as well from the merger with Northwest Airlines a while back.
Corporate Pinkwashing will have its limits. These companies aren’t “resisting fascism”, they’re just waiting until it’s financially “defendable” to join the Nazi Party. As soon as their profits/stock price suffers the tiniest bit, they’ll flip to being our enemy once again.
Remember: a company’s entire existence depends on the profit you - the consumer- will tolerate. The instant that ‘tolerance’ becomes unprofitable, YOU will become the enemy. And the entire multi-trillion-dollar international force of the so-called ‘allies’ will switch to being the enemies of the people without a second thought.
You, club, hold only the value efficient you add to the profit margins of any company you patronize. Short of that, you will be a wrist from existence.
And we LET this happen…
That's why we have to make the option that is best for society as a whole the most profitable one. There's only one thing you can trust companies to do, make as much money as possible. This is why fines that are basically a blip in the revenue are worthless cause that just becomes the cost of doing business.
