Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Amazing, thank you!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

I wonder if the Democrats are going to learn from this....who am I kidding. They're not. Cope and seethe has you do the same shit like you did in 2016, everyone.

[–] FooBarrington 2 points 4 hours ago

Oh, don't worry. They're learning they have to move further right.

Sad day, now 1436 days of fascism and misery

[–] TinklesMcPoo 2 points 7 hours ago

Let's hope it's only 1436. Fascists have a tendency to ignore term limits.

[–] Ensign_Crab 19 points 16 hours ago

So is no one gonna mention president musk's nazi salute?

[–] BlameTheAntifa 26 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

I remain in awe that someone who is Constitutionally ineligible to hold office, who is a rapist, and a convicted felon, an enemy of democracy, was not only on ballots, but won an election, and was permitted to be sworn in.

The US is not a country of law, nor a government by or for the people. It is a fully captured oligarchy.

[–] Letme 6 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

And knowing all of this, more than 1/3 of registered voters didn't care enough about anything but their own reflection on their phone to cast a vote.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 hour ago

You understand that if they didn't care enough to vote, their votes wouldn't have necessarily gone to Kamala? You get that right?

I'm so sick of blaming people who stayed home. They have that right. StFU. They didn't have an obligation to save you, and if they had all voted, they might have voted 50/50.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 11 hours ago

He's not even eligible to be president and yet here we are.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 11 hours ago

I have sighed a lot today. It's hard to not feel defeated.

[–] FiremanEdsRevenge 48 points 21 hours ago (14 children)

I'd rather watch paint dry.

[–] CharlesDarwin 11 points 20 hours ago

Agreed; I've been enjoying some of the reactions from his pikachu-faced base that are weeping that they are locked outside and cannot see their golden god-emperor being crowned king of the universe.

It's funny to watch how CLOSE they are to figuring it out. But they are almost wired not to be able to put it together, or if they do, suffer under incredible pain from the cognitive dissonance because every bit of their identity is about supporting donvict, and yet....deep down, they know they were conned.

The broligarchs and all the other important people will get to attend, inside. All the voters that donvict promised all kinds of shit to - they can stand out in the cold. Literally.

Still waiting for a Luigi to show up.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 12 hours ago

we all need another hero. we all need to find the way home. All we want is life beyond, this fucked up shit.

[–] Dragomus 31 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

The US government now has completed its transition into a full den of scum and villainy.

The top will be gleefully indulging in grotesque self enrichment.

Musk will race himself to become the first trillionaire, all the while kicking downwards.

For all of them it will be indeed a golden time of free money.

MAKE AMERICA GRIFT AGAIN

I think calling this the Rug Pull Administration is highly apt.

I typically refrain from posting political things on my socials but seeing so many people on TV and the internet proudly cheering for someone so full of unconcealed hatred makes me happy that I don't live in the United States.

The longer he talks, the more it's clear he has no idea...

He wants to abolish the "Green New Deal", he knows that was never passed, right?

https://www.npr.org/2019/03/26/705897344/green-new-deal-vote-sets-up-climate-change-as-key-2020-issue

[–] capt_wolf 24 points 20 hours ago

Whether he does or not, it doesn't matter. He definitely knows the idiot masses don't. And since he's scared the media into not fact checking him, many of them won't find out. Many more won't believe or care if you told them he was wrong.

He'll continue to say crap like this and if he's called on it, he'll herald it into a smear on his opponents and a victory for the people...

NBC news just broke in to announce Biden just pardoned his entire family.

Just had his signing ceremony, 2:15 PM Eastern:

https://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/watch/trump-partakes-in-signing-ceremony-for-cabinet-level-appointments-229784133726

22 cabinet level appointments
47 sub-cabinet level appointments
31 acting designations and appointments
15 chairman appointments

Proclamation that all future inaugurations have flags flown at full mast.

Break for lunch.

No mention of the 200+ executive actions promised in the inauguration speech.
