Report it using the non emergency number. They might post a cop out there or something. It's worth a shot at least
Off My Chest
RULES:
I am looking for mods!
1. The "good" part of our community means we are pro-empathy and anti-harassment. However, we don't intend to make this a "safe space" where everyone has to be a saint. Sh*t happens, and life is messy. That's why we get things off our chests.
2. Bigotry is not allowed. That includes racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and religiophobia. (If you want to vent about religion, that's fine; but religion is not inherently evil.)
3. Frustrated, venting, or angry posts are still welcome.
4. Posts and comments that bait, threaten, or incite harassment are not allowed.
5. If anyone offers mental, medical, or professional advice here, please remember to take it with a grain of salt. Seek out real professionals if needed.
6. Please put NSFW behind NSFW tags.
Thanks for the idea! I'll try this.
Report them, and keep the cameras rolling; you're going to see some comeuppance.
I have the opposite problem. There is a stop near me, on a 4-lane (plus center turn lane) road. Oncoming traffic is not supposed to stop, but always does.
Interesting. In my territory's laws, you have to stop unless there is a dividing median. There's a road that has three lanes on each side plus a center turn lane, and all lanes therefore must stop.
In some cities, the bus automatically takes photos of cars that pass it while the stop sign is engaged. Those drivers then get big tickets.
I hope we have this. I'm in Canada and I really doubt it. But that is a great idea!
What was the exact situation? In Florida you do not have to stop, if you are traveling in the opposite direction and there is a median wider than 5 feet. Were these cars directly behind the bus and then went around it? If you are supposed to stop for the school bus and don't that's both unlawful and karmically uncool.
Canada, and they have to stop. It's a residential area.
These cars were directly behind it and went around.
I've always heard people don't stop for school busses but thought it was rare.
I have to say, I've never seen it personally. I've seen people push the boundaries but not blatantly pass like that.
People become monsters under the veil of anonymity. Whether it's in your car, or behind a username.
How do you know it was under one minute if you weren't there? I can't help but think you feel guilty about being late and are externalizing that by trying to point out things other people did wrong. If I'm sitting behind a stopped bus for over a minute with no activity on or off, you can guarantee I will carefully proceed at some point soon.
Then you would be commiting a misdemeanor crime because you couldn't wait 2 minutes. If you then hit someone it becomes a felony! I'm sure they'll understand that those 2 minutes were very important to you though
Only it you are in some countries. A bus can be passed when she is not moving. Outside centre zones a normal bus has to flash lighs and start moving to have the right. You must stop when the 2 are shown. Only 1 no problem drive on. A schoolbus is the same and for the children. The helper on the bus needs to get out to help the ones who need to cross the streets safely.
Cameras :)
