MODERATORS

Hundreds of conservative operatives outlined a plan that Donald Trump, or any Republican, could use to purge climate action from the federal government.

Is it "do nothing and continue to pretend everything's fine while taking huge amounts of money from the fossil fuel lobbyists"? Because I bet that's the plan.

It's the "make sure to eliminate as many people as possible so that the unwashed plebs and non-whites don't spoil the view over oligarch-owned estates, cities and states". The corporate probably is fed up with inventing bullshit jobs for people made obsolete due to automation and decided that straight-up culling is better for the bottom line. The most efficient way to curb population numbers is to fuck up climate and starve the undesirables out.

Wait for euthanasia rolled out globally within a timeframe of 2-3 years (2-3 years from the start, we're not there yet) and then promptly made the default at insurers.

Wait for border guards gunning down climate refugees in plain sight, then going with the same guns for whatever scapegoat the corporate+politicians invent. Again, we're not there yet but the first signs are showing up.

Those midwest oceanfront resorts will be a killer investment opportunity.

I used to consider myself moderate but the Republicans have shifted so far right that there is no way I can vote for any of them in good conscience. Even if one seems somewhat okay, I don't trust them not to diantle all of the best things about our government.

It seems that the republican agenda has simply become one of "how much money can we make if we hurt people in new and creative ways?" If they ever get full control of the government again, they are going to ruin this country.

They would do away with the clean water act in an instant if they could. I swear, the only time they "think of the children" is when they're salivating over the profits to be gained from rising cancer rates due to lax environmental regulation.

Close. The only time they "think of the children" is when they're salivating over the profits to be gained by repealing child labor laws. I wish this was just a joke, but it's actually part of their platform now. They're trying to fast track us back to the worst aspects of the industrial revolution.

The only time they “think of the children”

I disagree. I mean, I agree, but they also think of the children constantly. Otherwise how else could they constantly sexualize, groom, and abuse them? Right wingers protest too much on this topic. Their leadership is awash in pedophiles. So are their rank and file. Their churches are child rape factories regardless of denomination or geographic location or size.

I guess it does go hand in hand with their entire idea of stripping protections and rights from children so they can be used like objects and thrown away when they’ve been used up/grown up.

From an European point of view, the Democrates cannot be viewed as moderate since they are so far right. Now guess what we think of the Republicans.

Their main party line isn't quite nazi germany yet (though their right-wing totally is). But they nicely fit in line with the precursour governments like e.g. Austrofaschism.

This is like, kinda scary.

[–] Olgratin_Magmatoe 15 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's downright terrifying. They openly want to destroy the environment and therefore all of us.

Vote them out before they can do any more damage.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago

They would legitimately set the world on fire just so they can rule over the ashes.

Here I am thinking, "they don't have a plan for climate change."

/Reads article.

Ah their "plan" is to make climate change even worse and sweep under the rug anything that shows what a horrible fucking decision that is. That's par for the course for conservatives. Fuck everything up, hide evidence, blame others. Core conservative values.

It's like saying someone has a plan to solve suicide but that plan is to murder them before they can do it.

[–] restingboredface 3 points 1 year ago

Well honestly what does trump (or most republicans) care anyway? They'll be dead in a few years so they don't need to be concerned if the world is baking. All they care about is next quarters earnings.

At this point, every new day brings new things that are going to astonish future generations (if there are any).

They're going to look back and be amazed and repused by seemingly entirely inexplicable examples of our impossibly obvious stupidity and insanity.

[–] RGB3x3 1 points 1 year ago

It's either that or we all die.

Burying your head in the sand isn't a plan.
