Since we're just making up an emotion for the cloud to "feel" for the headline why does it have to be lonely? Why can't it at least be horny or something?

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Lonely can also mean, "without others of a simplest) similar kind," so it's not inaccurate.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

Well then horny still probably applies, hey oh!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

It can, but it is generally more emotionally charged than saying "lone" instead.

a long, bright water ice cloud stretching out over the Martian surface, extending over the planet's Arsia Mons volcano all the way to the volcano Olympus Mons, the tallest mountain in the solar system

Very cool. I knew about Olympus Mons, but TIL about Arsia Mons!

That's 932 in freedom units, if anyone was curious.

That's about 702,700 bald eagle wingspans for real freedom units.

But how many .45 ACPs is that?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

It's okay not to remove the hyphen. It's also correct English to keep the hyphen.

We should try to give it a friend.
