Summary

At a European summit in Budapest, UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of the UK’s “iron-clad” support for Ukraine amidst concerns over potential shifts in U.S. aid following Donald Trump’s election victory.

European leaders, including Hungary’s Viktor Orban, emphasized the need for Europe to take more responsibility for its defense, with Orban cautioning against over-reliance on the U.S.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte warned of the threats posed by Russia and its allies, while Starmer urged Ukraine’s allies to strengthen their commitment to supporting Kyiv.

Starmer might be a slimey little bitch in every other regard but if he can keep the people of Ukraine free then I salute him.

I just wish literally any other major labor MP had been picked for PM since then we might see positive economic action.

Keep the faith, Brits. Perhaps Brexit washed some of the insanity out early enough that the far right continues to struggle there.

Hopefully we're not slowly returning to the Napoleonic Era, I'm not sure you guys could withstand all of continental Europe a third time.

They were 19th century steam powered wooden ships. Eventually we just started making the hull out of steel too
