reminder to americans - you already have one of the worst healthcare systems in the “developed” world

[–] [email protected] 15 points 2 weeks ago

While true, the CEOs and owners of the insurance companies dont get to keep all the money people pay for insurance and the GOP is looking to correct that error. We must be #1 in all things and that includes #1 worst, most useless health insurance!

#1 reason I moved to a civilized country.

None of them will have us.

[–] PrimeMinisterKeyes 2 points 2 weeks ago

I will have you.

Blessed are the poor, for they shall have healthcare. (But not too poor, We're not a bunch of communists.)

So let's try again:

Blessed are those who toil in service of their masters, for they will be trickled down upon.

Ephesians 6:5

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.

[–] ieatpwns 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Yea nah someone definitely added that after the fact

If you mean added to the bible after the council of Nicea decided on the contents of the bible, no. The bible, both old testament and new, is very explicitly pro-slavery.

[–] ieatpwns 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I’m just doin a sarcasm

I know the Bible’s pro-slavery. It’s easier to keep people in check with a lil bit o’ faith

Apparently reading so many bad takes over the last few years has destroyed my ability to detect sarcasm. Sorry about that.

What fool has ever believed they were looking to expand it?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 weeks ago

Gullible gop voters

He has "concepts of a plan", 9 years later.

This is really quite simple - they want to remove the few marginal protections offered by ACA. Namely, pre-existing conditions. Republicans believe insurers should not assist you if you are sick but haven't been paying them for long enough beforehand. Just like these dying pregnant women who are now forced to attempt waiting to give stillbirth instead of get abortions, all of us will have to wait until insurers have collected enough money from us before they will pay their 60-80% to make vital medical care almost affordable.

As a concept, it’s a shit plan. In reality it will be extremely bad for all but the richest among us. America is truly barbaric to its own people.

America has care for its citizens in a long time. It only cares about the rich and corporations.

Look what they did in Texas. Something like thousands of people died because Texas decided to remove millions of people off Medicare for no reason other than to be evil. Add in roe v wade and it's literally a death trap of a state. Hospitals are firing staff because most have seen a 30% drop in revenue because millions of people now don't have insurance and women aren't able to get life saving treatment until they are literally having organ failure.

[–] Riccosuave 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

This is precisely why Democratic states should begin economically embargoing Republican states.

[–] NatakuNox 1 points 2 weeks ago

I wish. But only like two people in the whole of democratic party leadership would ever get in the way of money making... Plus federal laws

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 weeks ago

They always have been. They have been trying to repeal the affordable care act since always.
