They put fascism on the menu when they decided to host Trump. Everything else they're doing is moot. Fuck McDonald's - there are PLENTY of other options to get your salty heart attack fix.

A single franchise owner "

I hate McDonald's, but for many other reasons. They avoid politics, because that hurts the bottom line

Except for they didn't avoid it. They knew it was happening weeks in advance and didn't do shit to stop it. Just because franchise owners have a bit of autonomy does NOT mean corporate won't bring the hammer down if they think something will tarnish the brand.

I've not heard that. Source? Not doubting you, but I'm curious.

The only response I've seen so far is a statement saying they're not a political company. That's about as weak as it gets.

If you let your dog off the leash and it proceeds to maul a kid, and you react by standing idly until it's over then telling the kid "Hey sorry, she doesn't bite." then you're complicit as fuck, and lying through your teeth about what just happened.

Boycott those fuckers.

Cool. I will continue not to give money to Trump's favorite so-called restaurant.

I honestly didn't think it was the meat. the only unique topping on that sandwich is the onions which aren't used for anything else as an uncooked item. if it was the meat I think more people would have gotten sick.

The Quarter Pounder is the only meat item at McDonald's that isn't frozen. They made a big deal about that when they started doing that a few years ago after Wendy's kept going on and on about how that separated them from the competition.

That's why it is singled out compared to every other burger, and why it could be more likely than the other burgers.

More hamberder, less produce.

And what about the onions and other ingredients?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

This is explained in the article.

The 900 restaurants that received slivered onions from McDonald’s supplier Taylor Farms’ Colorado Springs facility will resume sales of Quarter Pounders without slivered onions

Wasn't there also a lysteria outbreak?
