Child soldiers that are brainwashed into thinking it’s okay to rape, pillage, and murder entire unarmed families, and then make videos for the internet where they defile their homes while singing songs about genocide.

Yes, those people are also victims of the society and government to which they belong. The harm they cause to themselves and others is saddening but caused by a larger problem.
It’s woven into their ideologies and everyday lives. Has been that way from day one. Young minds don’t stand a chance.
Not defending Israel here in the least bit, but wouldn’t 18 year old soldiers still count as “teenage”? Just weird that they would use “teenage victims” instead of “young soldiers” or something.
Absolutely designed to evoke an emotional response, which is all propaganda is.
TheGuardian had my favorite headline yesterday. A masterclass in doublespeak compressed to one sentence.
Anything to tug at heartstrings and manufacture consent for the genocide.
They are victims, of that drone strike if the information given is accurate, and also of a military that would recruit them and put them close to the front lines when they're just teenagers. And it's not only Israel who does that, but it doesn't make it okay. Kids that age can't make informed decisions about how to risk their lives. They didn't have any political power in starting the war or continuing it.
But don't take my word for it. Take the word of the people who wrote that article. They obviously agree, or they would have written their headline differently.
I’m in the US and our oldest son wanted to enlist this year when he turned 18. Power to him for wanting to serve the country and help protect us, but he barely knows how to do basic adult shit. And not bc we don’t teach them, he just doesn’t get it sometimes or care enough to do things right. And he wanted to throw himself on the frontlines. We were terrified for him. Luckily he changed his mind.
Enlistment should begin at 21.
How the hell was 18 years not enough for you to teach him to adult? Infantilization of young adults needs to STOP.
You’re right. But to be honest, my previous comment was a bit harsh and exaggerated bc of some stuff going on rn. He’s smart and capable of a lot. He knows what it means to be an adult. I meant it more in the sense that just because someone turns 18, doesn’t mean they’re ready for all aspects of the “real world” from the get go. In our young adult years we do stupid shit and make bad decisions as we figure it out. There’s a learning process. Even in my age I still learning and figuring out.
Hence my opinion that 18 is too young to serve in the military.
Teens in a military base.
People in a school.
Hmm.
In central Gaza.
Sky news is pure trash.
It's like you've never heard of the number 19, what weird kind of post is this.
