Republican nominee claims Harris is threat to democracy in recording of top-dollar fundraiser in Colorado in August

Donald Trump unleashed a foul-mouthed tirade about undocumented immigrants and predicted that this “could be the last election we ever have” if Kamala Harris wins during a private fundraising dinner this summer.

The Guardian obtained a 12-minute recording of a speech that the Republican presidential nominee gave at a dinner on 10 August in Aspen, Colorado, where attendees were required to donate anywhere from $25,000 to $500,000 a couple.

Trump devoted most of his address to border security and immigration, recycling xenophobic claims now familiar from his rallies. “Radical leftwing lunatics” want people to come in from prisons, mental institutions and insane asylums, he asserted without evidence, adding that the US was harbouring “a record number of terrorists”.

the US was harbouring “a record number of terrorists”.

they are, most 'terrorism' in the untited states is committed by white american males... and thats before you include the police

Include police and it's still majority white American males.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 month ago

I think the point was that the percentage of white US born males would be even higher if you include the cops.

We call those Republicans, the Marines, and the police (as you already pointed out.) The problem is they are the wrong color of terrorist. We like our terrorist like we like our chocolate, dark and foreign.

I hear this is also how Marines prefer their crayons.

Or they can have a trusted adult put them in the microwave for a few seconds to soften them up a bit first

Yeah, I hear the real treat is in bootcamp when the drill sergeants feed the fledgling jarheads from their mouths.

Trump often uses the Royal “we” to confuse. When he does this he’s talking about himself.

So when he talks about “the last election we ever have” He means the last election HE will have - because he’ll be too old and in jail and unable to run again.

This is also projection - recall that he urged voters they’ll only need to vote one more time. He 100% will attempt to install himself and his family as permanent dictators if elected and the Supreme Court will let him do it. Don’t believe he won’t and don’t believe Republican lawmakers aren’t craven enough to facilitate this. He looks up to Putin and Kim Jong-Un because he thinks they have a sweet deal as dictators for life.

Most important part that I can add if you don't want to watch this happen on the news and then in your very own community:

Vote. For candidates who oppose Trump and Republican/conservative ideologies.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

While we’re voting they’re occupying capital cities and trying to overturn elections.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I'd hazard a guess he always uses the royal we, I haven't analyzed it in depth but he really can't think outside himself. No imagination what so ever, all his attacks are just whatever he does or thought of (well maybe some aides helped). I imagine if I knew more about narcissism it'd tie in there but I have zero studying to comment on that.

If he wasn't such an asshole with zero self awareness, it'd be enough to pity him, but he is so fuck Trump.

For more evidence of the royal we just look at when he was president and insert Trump anytime he says the United States. Not directed at who I replied to but to other readers.

[–] Thrillhouse 3 points 1 month ago

Yes exactly. In his mind Trump = America. There is no separation. Americans are super close to having a king again 😬

Why do i understand immigration policy so much better than a former president of the United States‽ I’m a fucking engineer! But I understand that people seeking asylum are not coming in from mental institutions, they’re coming from oppressive regimes and inhospitable areas (natural, political, criminal, or otherwise) and seeking to invoke their basic human rights in accordance with international treaties that we signed in the wake of the Holocaust saying that people have the right to bypass borders to ensure a basic level of safety and freedom.

This isn’t hard, you should’ve learned this in history or civics classes.

[–] billiam0202 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Because you wanted to learn about it, so you did.

Donald Trump doesn't want to learn about anything that doesn't affect him personally, so he won't put in the effort to educate himself. Also his narcissism won't let him believe that there's anything he isn't already the most knowledgeable person about.

[–] APassenger 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I agree he doesnt care to learn, but I also wonder if that's because he finds it so difficult.

He ain't bright.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

Quite likely one feeding the other. He must have learned long ago that he'll never be able to compete in brains, but money, threats and bravado will get someone like him a lot farther than he'd get otherwise. In the meantime, he may have accidentally convinced himself that his level of knowledge actually is big and beautiful and anyone who claims to know more is just bullshitting like he is.

Why quote it? It was given to you.

RELEASE THE DAMN RECORDING!

There's a hell of a difference between you telling people he said it - and them hearing him say it.

[–] cultsuperstar 1 points 1 month ago

His MAGA will just say it was AI generated.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 1 month ago (1 children)

He really does miss the "political" in political asylum

[–] draneceusrex 4 points 1 month ago

What do you mean? Of course asylum means they are escaped crazy people, and political just means it'll look bad for the Democrats.
