Here come’s an ‘s

It’s a reference to the unnecessary apostrophe. The quote was something like “an apostrophe is used to create possessive nouns, it doesn’t mean ‘here comes an s!’”

the guy behind the stall is clearly not happy with this situation.

He's cheesed. (Sorry, couldn't help milking it.)

[–] proudblond 17 points 2 months ago

Does it count when the photographer is taking a picture of the sign and the cheese just happens to be in the frame?

"No photo is just"

I was in a market that had signs up not only prohibiting photos of the case of expensive booze, they also put one up saying not to take notes about it. Guess they're pretty worried about either corporate espionage or comparison shopping

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

wow it even threatens to take away your photos or notes if you get caught

I know, it's ridiculous. And this was out in the countryside, albeit at a chain store.

Also, who writes 尚 in kanji? Maybe the only time I've seen that.

Ikr, it's trying so hard to sound formal. Maybe they think this will make the rule seem more authoritative

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

If that's in Japan, aren't all picture devices required to make a sound when you take a picture?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Phones are sold that way, but I'm not sure if it's by law or convention. But there's no issue using either foreign-bought devices or apps that don't make a sound.

Either way I can't quite imagine the scene of someone confronting you taking pictures in a grocery store.

They should have just took a video, wouldn't break the sacred rule

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

but isn't video just 29 photos per second?

Nice ~~cheeses~~ cheese's, though.

Mmm... cheese... (Personally, I consider cheese to be a condiment.)

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago

You're not allowed to take photos because it'd brie weird for cheese to say cheese.

[–] expatriado 3 points 2 months ago

don't you say

[–] Etterra 3 points 2 months ago

No photo's what?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

I am wearing the cheese, it does not wear me
