The president is free to kill his opponents, but he can't forgive debt? Your corruption is showing Supreme Court.

The president is free to kill his opponents, but he can’t forgive debt? Your corruption is showing Supreme Court.

So Biden could just dismiss the debt and say it was an official act. To be clear, he simply lacks the will.

The Supreme Court gets to decide what is an official act. And he can’t dismiss supreme court’s justices… however…

And he can’t dismiss supreme court’s justices…

But he can have them wasted now.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 3 months ago (1 children)

If the Supreme Court agrees.

If he takes out the supreme court, it doesn't seem there's anyone left to disagree ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[–] [email protected] 11 points 3 months ago (1 children)

The people that replace them may have some strongly worded opin...

Okay well maybe the person who replaces that one will...

Yeah looks like the supreme Court is fine with it

I'm just a pleb, but wouldn't his official acts be legal. It was ruled as legal, he killed them, then the new justice ruled it unconstitutional.

[–] duckduckohno 1 points 2 months ago

He can dismiss them illegally and say it was an official act...

[–] [email protected] 14 points 3 months ago

That is exactly what he should do. Then dismiss any Justice who disagrees with him as an official act as well.

Unsurprising since he almost single-handedly caused the student loan crisis when he took a gigantic payout from MBNA to pen the bankruptcy protection act of 2005. This legislation prevented student loans from being disbursed in bankruptcy.

I’ll say it again:

I hope Joe Biden burns in hell for subjecting all future generations to indentured servitude in the form of exploitative student loans with astronomical interest rates and inescapable bankruptcy clauses.

I'm pretty sure the genocide in palestine is already sufficient for hell.

Oh absolutely. Don’t get me started on the myriad of issues that I didn’t mention. It was impossible for me to bite my tongue when people were trying to shove him down my throat as a “decent man”.

These are exactly the same people that are currently attempting to repair war criminal George W. Bush’s image:

The ruling was that the president is immune from criminal punishment over offical acts not that the president can pass any laws they want.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Arguably, passing a law without congress would be an unofficial act and breaking the law.

At that point, he could be impeached, and after impeachment, charged with a crime related to the impeachment.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago

Who determines whether it's an unofficial act? The same judges with the same fascist bias?

[–] FlashMobOfOne 6 points 3 months ago

Exactly.

He's already unilaterally cancelled bits of student debt for several categories of people.

The SCOTUS is just giving him cover.

[–] [email protected] 44 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

So I'm stuck with this forever because they lied to us but billionaires get a bail out because they can't buy their 18th yatch smh

[–] [email protected] 35 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Ths SCOTUS is a corrupt MAGA outfit. Is anyone surprised?

That's the justices who killed Roe v. Wade we're talking about, remember.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

It’s far worse than that. If one side were the clear bad guys, we could simply vote them out. But particularly on this issue, MAGA is no different than Blue MAGA. They’re all lying douchebags. The only difference is that the Dems can pretend they’re helping you because most people don’t understand the means-testing legalese they attach to every “handout” they propose.

Bloomberg: “Under my governership, there were less uninsured people than at any time in New York’s history” (while intentionally failing to mention the stiff penalties he put in place for being uninsured, coupled with making the bar to qualify for state-assisted healthcare FAR below any humane poverty line).

So, story time.

I graduated in spring 2022 and was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia in early 2023.

I have been struggling trying to get jobs, having my life blow up, and losing those jobs. I have genuinely been struggling with life in general and have had a deep pervasive depression throughout all of it.

That lead me to ignoring my student loans and the SAVE program entirely, because no interest was accruing and missed payments weren't counting against me. I let my depression take over and just ignored it all for almost two years.

The real fucked up thing?

I'm in a better position now because I never signed up for the plan. I've heard from the non-profit I turned to to help me figure out a deferral (cancer deferral is my best bet) that a lot of people who signed up for the SAVE Plan now have their loans in forbearance.

So being chronically depressed and missing the boat actually helped me not get fucked even harder by conservative ratfuckery.

Absolute fucking disgrace shit. Honestly, that includes Biden because he should have been smart enough to see this fucking happening. This shit is literally ruining people's lives and financial futures.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Biden fucked you so much more than you even realize. He was THE person that wrote the legislation which made student loans impossible to disburse in bankruptcy.

This was the reason I cast a vote for Rashida Tlaib in 2020.

If he were on fire, I wouldn’t even waste my piss on the actual person that took bribes in exchange for making the prime of my life into an inescapable debtor’s prison while simultaneously making it impossible for me to EVER own a home.

I can’t believe they made Thomas even get off his owner’s yacht to come hear this case.

Pondering the logistics of starting a national movement to just refuse to pay at all.

[–] qarbone 3 points 3 months ago

I'm doing a mini, personal version called "having no money".

[–] [email protected] -2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I mean you can just not pay... It will just tank your credit.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 months ago

Missing the point. If a few people independently decide not to pay that doesn’t really send much of a message.
