Fat bottom boats make the sailing world go round
I used to have an illustration book that had the most amazing cutaway of a galleon. Every single cm of the page had intricate details of objects and people. You could see the Captain reading in his cabin and someone sneaking food to stowaways hiding at the bottom of the ship.

There are no stairs down to the bottom three decks.
They favoured max load over speed. Heavily.
How do you get to the lower decks? Ladders? Where are the sleeping quarters?
